The Food

The Dining Room

Food is the final subject listed in most fishing lodge brochures but we think it's almost the first thing that anglers care about.

One of the highlights of any trip to a fishing lodge is the food. Blackfly Lodge has over the years come to be known for the Bahamian culinary skills of Executive Chef Devon Roker. Devon brings our guests on a easy going tropical food trip every night filled with sights and smells not found at any other fishing lodge. Devon's introduction of each course only makes each meal more special.
A great wine with dinner
Chef Devon and our kitchen serve seasonal Bahamian seafood daily in some form or another. Devon will serve fish or lobster several times during your stay and don't forget about stone crab claws in season or fried lobster sandwiches for lunch.

An Eggs Benedict Breakfast

Every evening anglers will be greeted upon their return with an open bar, a comfortable seat on the front porch and an imaginative "after fishing" appetizer. Appetizers might be authentic conch fritters from Clint's grandmother's recipe or a fresh seafood ceviche from the waters in front of the lodge.

One of our recent anglers said that on his next trip he wasn't going to bother with the fishing , he was just coming to eat!

With the purchase of our new 31 foot Yellowfin center console boat we have expanded our offshore fishing program in order to add more variety to the overall fishing experience at Blackfly Lodge. This will also expand our plan to add even more fresh seafood to our menu. We are testing the waters on a daily basis as to where to go for the best yellowtail snappers, grouper, tuna and wahoo..... so far dinners have been spectacular!

If you're interested in joining us on one of our expeditions to catch dinner, let us know and we'll try to include you on one of our trips offshore. You may also add on an offshore trip to your scheduled to try your hand a offshore fly fishing
